A Paris, au milieu des années 70, Daniel, photographe, déjeune avec sa femme Irène au célèbre restaurant la Closerie des Lilas. Il est bouleversé par le visage d'un habitué solitaire : une figure d'oiseau de proie, émaciée et ténébreuse, au regard d'un noir d'encre. Daniel veut le photographier. L'homme s'appelle Viktor Atemian. Dans son vaste appartement du boulevard Saint-Germain, totalement vide de meubles, Daniel fait de lui un portrait troublant. Les deux hommes se lient d'amitié, inventent des jeux dada. C'est le moment où Atemian commence à écrire, furieusement…
Paris, in the mid-70s. A photographer meets an emaciated, tenebrous man called Viktor Atemian. The two become friends and invent dadaist games. Atemian starts writing incessantly. Following the publication of his short story “Fils de chien”, suddenly, with no explanation, he winds up his thriving Russian translation agency and sells his luxury apartment to some Americans. Times and the city change... His money starts running out... This is the tale of an improvised author who rises to the heights of success before crossing the desert and ending in the street.
